Prep Time: 25 minutes
Cook Time: 25 minutes
Total Time: 60 minutes
Ingredients
2 salmon or trout fillets (approximately 150g each)
Sesame seeds for sprinkling
Marinade
1 tablespoon tamari
2 teaspoons maple syrup
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 small garlic clove, minced
1/4 teaspoon minced ginger
Method
- Preheat your oven to 160 degrees Celsius and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- Place the salmon or trout filets on the prepared baking tray with the skin side down.
- To make the marinade, in a bowl, combine the tamari, maple syrup, sesame oil, minced garlic, and minced ginger. Mix until well combined.
- Spoon the marinade over the fish filets, ensuring that they are well coated. Allow the fish to marinate for 15-20 minutes.
- Once marinated, place the fish fillets back on the baking tray with the skin side down.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily.
- At the 15-minute mark, remove the fish from the oven.m Sprinkle sesame seeds evenly over the fish.
- Return the tray to the oven and bake for the remaining time, approximately 5-10 more minutes, or until the sesame seeds are lightly toasted.
- Once removed from the oven, let the baked salmon or trout cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.
- Serve it over a bed of rice with some stir-fried greens for a delicious meal.
